Sports: Manny Pacquiao wins via 8th round KO

Pacquiao, courtesy of This just in: Manny Pacquiao has just beaten the unbeatable Jorge Solis of Mexico in the eighth round of their championship fight, dubbed “Blaze of Glory,” at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

I still don’t have details of the match, but I’ll post them as soon as it comes in. 🙂

Here’s the first few paragraphs of the story from The Sports Network.

San Antonio, TX — Manny Pacquiao retained his international WBC super featherweight title with an eighth-round knockout of Jorge Solis.

Pacquiao (44-3-2, 35 KOs), a congressional candidate in the Philippines, dominated most of the bout and ended it by flooring his Mexican opponent twice in the eighth round.

Solis (32-1-2), in his first world title fight, couldn’t keep up with the fast pace of “Pacman” Pacquiao.

Addendum: Well, looks like AP is wrong. (I’ve just finished watching the seventh round of the match and Solis didn’t fall). What’s up, AP? Editorial integrity is fast, uhmm, declining.
