Sports: Go, Manny Pacquiao!

I know, I know. It’s probably a waste of blog space, but I just have to root of the guy. He is, after all, be it because of dumb luck or sheer perserverance, a sports legend and national figure.

For those who don’t know yet, Manny Pacquiao is once again entering the boxing ring, this time against unbeaten Mexican pug Jorge Solis. The fight is ongoing even as I type. So, you see, I’m losing valuable viewing time. 😉

Anyway, here’s a rundown of the match from Salven Lagumbay, a correspondent and columnist of Cebu Daily News who’s covering the event for Philboxing.com.

“Superstar Manny Pacquiao starts strongly in the first three rounds. A low blow by Solis on Pacquiao’s left leg bothered the latter, but the Pinoy icon wins the fourth round. Solis came back by taking the fifth.”
